Easter Musical Drama

Bethesda Church, 2600 E. 38th St., will present an Easter musical drama "Who Will Call Him King of Kings?" Fri., Apr. 6, 7 p.m.; Sat. Apr. 7, 4 p.m.; and Fri., Apr. 13, 7 p.m. The production involves a cast and choir of over 60 people. Call the church at 612-722-6651 for free complimentary tickets.

Music at Mount Olive

Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 3045 Chicago Ave. S., invites the neighborhood to two Sun. worship at 10:45 a.m. on Palm Sunday, Apr. 8, when Minneapolis area composer Ronald A. Nelson's "Voices from the Passion" will be performed.
The events will be recorded and a nursery will be available.

Jazz at Calvary Lutheran

Calvary Lutheran Church, 3901 Chicago Ave., invites the public to an afternoon of traditional and contemporary jazz on Sun., Apr. 22, 4 p.m. Featured stars are host, composer and pianist Severin Behnen, guest composer Carei Thomas, "The Modern Times Dixieland Band," and Richard Pendleton.

Gospel 2000

Neighbor to Neighbor Choral Concert
Church of the Holy Name, 3637 11th Ave. S., invites the neighborhood to enjoy a concert of choral praise Sun., Apr. 29, 4 p.m. Churches in the Neighbor to Neighbor organization as well as other neighboring churches will participate. Congregational singing will be part of the event. Refreshments will follow.

Calvary Lutheran Youth Night

Calvary Lutheran Church, 3901 Chicago Ave. S., welcomes middle and high school students (grades 6 - 12) to a weekly Youth Night in the Youth Room from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be games, sharing, Bible study and other stuff.

Peacemakers

St. Joan of Arc/WAMM Peacemakers meet the third Tuesday of the month at Sabathani, 310 E. 38th St., 7 p.m. Newcomers are welcome.

Food & Clothing

Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 3400 Park Ave. S., offers food and clothing through Cornerstone, open Tuesdays, noon - 4 p.m., and Thursdays, 1 - 5 p.m. Used clothing can be purchased for a small fee and food shelf items are available.

Salem Evangelical Free Church, 3101 14th Ave. S., operates the Clothes Corner, open every Tu., 10 a.m. - noon, selling low-cost clothing and bedding (10 cents or less). Refreshments are served. The neighborhood is welcome.
A Sunday meal, EAT (Eating All Together), is served at 12:15 p.m. Friends and neighbors are invited.
Mount Olive LutheranChurch E. 31st St. and Chicago Ave. S.,
offers new and used school clothes at very low prices for people who obtain referrals from WIC, Salvation Army, a social worker or another church. The Clothes Closet is located in the church and is open Tuesdays, 10 - noon and 1 - 3 p.m.
A free community luncheon is served the first Saturday of every month at 12 noon.

Free Legal Clinic

Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 3045 Chicago Ave. S., will be the site for the Chicago Lake Legal Clinic, a free service offering assistance for landlord/tenant, domestic, immigration and other problems. The clinic will be open every 3rd Friday of the month from 1 to 3 p.m. Call Donna at 612-827-5919 with any questions.


METRO AREA


Environmental Health: Chemical-Free Lawn Care
First Universalist Church, 3400 Dupont Ave. S. (in Uptown), will present a free seminar addressing environmental health issues. Three panels will be presented between 10 and 11 a.m.: "Why Worry About Pesticides?" "Low Input Lawn Care," and "Non-Toxic Lawn Care." From 9 a.m. until noon vendor tables will be set up featuring organic products, natural planting information and more. People attending are asked to refrain from wearing scented personal care products like perfume, hand lotion, after-shave lotion, hair spray and mousses because some people attending are highly sensitive to synthetic chemicals and their health can be injured by them.

Household Items Needed

Catholic Charities Furniture Warehouse, 436 Smith Ave. N., St. Paul, needs household items such as dishes, pots, pans, towels and linens. It is open Mon.- Fri., 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Sat., 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
