Why so few African-Americans in construction?

Why aren't African-Americans working at construction sites in Minneapolis? The Community Collaborative Organization is holding a series of community meetings to discuss why African-American men are not admitted to the construction trades and why they are not participating in the rebuilding of Minneapolis. The next meeting is Saturday, August 3 at Sabathani Community Center at 310 East 38th Street from 8:30 to noon. There will be a light continental breakfast and an African luncheon will be served at noon. Larry Blackwell, former Civil Rights Deputy and former Director of Affirmative Action for the City of Minneapolis, will be the main presenter. Shane Price is the guest facilitator. You must RSVP by July 29 by calling Ms Pauline Thomas at 612-827-4158.
