Write a paragraph about your push mower

"The carbon dioxide emissions from running a gas-powered lawn mower for one hour are equivalent to those of a 350-mile car trip," said a 2003 St. Joan of Arc newsletter. “One way to make global climate changes is to use hand tools and push lawn mowers.”

There is good reason to believe that a significant portion of the South Minneapolis population already uses push lawn mowers. Southside Pride would like to verify this.

Those who use push lawn mowers are encouraged to write in to the paper and tell us about it: What is your motivation? How long have you been protecting our atmosphere? Where did you get your push mower? Have you ever convinced someone else to use a push mower?

Look for a report on the public’s response next month.
