Riverside area crime report

In an effort to keep the neighborhood informed of criminal goings on, the Southside Pride will be publishing the official area crime reports of the Minneapolis police department.

Between 9/1/04 and 10/6/04 the Cooper neighborhood reported 8 burglaries, 5 cases of larceny, 2 cases of auto theft and 1 robbery.

The Howe neighborhood reported 7 burglaries, 6 cases of larceny and 4 cases of auto theft during the same time period.

The Hiawatha neighborhood reported 12 burglaries, 8 cases of larceny, 2 cases of auto theft and 1 robbery also during the same time period.

The Longfellow neighborhood reported 35 cases of larceny, 11 burglaries, 7 cases of auto theft, 3 cases of aggravated assault and 2 robberies in the same time period.

The Seward neighborhood reported 24 cases of larceny, 17 burglaries, 11 cases of auto theft and 2 cases of robbery, 1 case of aggravated assault and 1 case of arson also during the same time period.

Those intersted in becoming block leaders for CCP/SAFE are encouraged to attend a training on Tues., Oct. 19, at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church (5760 Portland Ave.) in the Fellowship Hall from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. You must RSVP (call 612-673-2955) to attend this training.
