Police issue Seward area burglary alert

Numerous burglaries have been reported in Seward residences and garages, at various times during the day and night. The suspects look for items that are easy to steal, such as unlocked bikes, and also rummage through unlocked crs in garages to take items. In the majority of garage burglaries, suspects hav pried open service doors to gain entry. In residence dwellings, suspects have cut a screen or entered through unlocked windows. Police report no suspects have been identified at this time.

Police urged residents to pay attention to anyone going door to door and to be alert to street and alley activity at night. Call 911 if you see suspicious behavior such as people loitering in alleys.
