Nominees sought
Do your neighbors deserve recognition for the work that they do
with your block club or a block club in your neighborhood? Every
year, the Minneapolis Police Department presents Building Blocks
Awards to block clubs that effectively connect neighbors. In deciding
on these awards we consider how the nominated block club prevents
crime, takes on issues, and shares time together. Block clubs are
encouraged to nominate themselves.
Each honored block club will receive:
•Building Blocks Award signs to post on the block(s)
•A $100 gift card
•An award of appreciation for each block leader
•Recognition at a public ceremony on Tuesday, March 20, 2007
To nominate someone, provide this information:
•How has life on the block improved through the block club’s
efforts?
•How does the block club build connections between people?
•In what ways does the block club work with the Minneapolis
Police Department?
•Describe the events, activities and meetings of the block
club.
•When did the block club start?
•What are the boundaries of the block club?
•Nominated block club: name, address, phone number(s) and
e-mail address for each block leader
•Nominator’s name, address, phone number(s) and e-mail
address.
Nominations due: Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007
