South High hosts college financial
aid
night—Jan. 23
The South High School counseling department invites
parents and junior/senior students to learn more about the college
financial aid process by attending a special night of activities
on Jan. 23 from 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the South High Auditorium
inside the school, located at 3131 19th Ave. S.
Light refreshments will be provided, as well
as child care.
An overview of the financial aid process will be presented, with
special sessions in the following areas:
•First generation college students and their families;
•English Language learners (ELL) students and their families;
•Native American scholarships and students and their families;
•Highly competitive scholarships for students and their families.

Upcoming events at South High School
Under the direction of Louise “Freida” Bormann, the
South High theater department will present Shakespeare’s 12th
Night on Thu. through Sat., Feb. 8, 9 and 10. The play is a farce
of mistaken identities, and show time is 7 p.m. Tickets are $8/adults,
$6/students.
The theater has been nominated by Lance Brockman
from the University of Minnesota to represent the United States
at the 2008 American High School Theatre Festival (AHSTF) in Edinburgh,
Scotland. Director Bormann is considering the application. |
