Community Meeting for 46th and Hiawatha LRT station
The City of Minneapolis Department of Community
Planning and Economic Development (CPED), in partnership with a
Citizen Advisory Committee of neighborhood residents, businesses
and property owners, and other public agencies, is hosting a second
public meeting to solicit input into the study of the 46th Street
and Hiawatha LRT station area. The consultant team, led by Olsson
Associates, will present alternative transportation and stormwater
infrastructure, open space and land use design concepts, development
scenarios, and phasing recommendations for near-term and long-term
projects that support the implementation of the 46th Street and
Hiawath LRT Station Area Master Plan, adopted in 2001. The public
is invited to give input on community priorities, preferred projects,
and design concepts.
The consultant team will continue to work with
the Citizen Advisory Committee to refine the technical analysis
and community input into final design concepts, priorities, and
the implementation action plan. Community meetings, to be scheduled
in early 2008, will present the study’s finding and recommendations.
For more information, please contact Mark Garner at 612 673 5037.
The meeting will be September 18, 2007 from 6:30-8:30pm. The presentation
will begin at 7 pm at the Hiawatha Community School Gymnasium, 4201
42nd Avenue South.
The meeting site is wheelchair accessible; if
you need other disability related accommodations, such as a sign
language interpreter or materials in alternative format, please
