Young Achiever of the Year Award

Local resident Dafina Bobo is one of three students selected by International Leadership Network (ILN) to receive recognition as a 2007 Young Achiever of the Year.

The ninth-grader, who lives in Phillips Neighborhood and attends The Blake School, was selected from 113 student achievers from across the nation nominated for this award for outstanding achievement.

Among her many accomplishments, founding a youth service organization called "Girls in Motion, and traveling to the British Isles with People to People Student Ambassador Programs stand out. Her focus for the future is on international business, foreign languages and diplomacy. She hopes the life she builds will "take me around the world and allow me to influence the lives of those in need."
