Greens to caucus
on March 4
Voters who want to caucus with the Green Party will have to wait until
March 4, according to Minnesota Greens website. The announcement
reads: “Following a long discussion, the Green Party of Minnesota’s
Coordinating Committee decided to hold [its] local caucuses on March
4, the traditional caucus date for the state of Minnesota.”
“ ‘As a minor party, we don’t actually need to hold caucuses, but the
caucus process is a key element of grassroots participation in political
parties,’ said Andy Exley, one of the Coordinating Committee members.
“The choice of holding to the traditional date was mainly based on the
Green Party’s tradition of holding a biennial meeting in early January,
thus not allowing much time to prepare for a February caucus date.
“More information about caucus locations will be available at the
Minnesota Secretary of State’s Caucus finder web page and on the Green
Party of Minnesota’s web page (mngreens.org) as caucus time approaches.”
