Minnehaha Parkway to close on June 8
Minnehaha Parkway at Interstate 35W in Minneapolis will close in Sunday evening, June 8, and remain closed until Saturday, June 14. Part of the I-35W/Highway 62 Crosstown reconstruction project, the closure is needed to set bridge beams above Minnehaha Parkway.
During the closure, at least one pedestrian or bike path along Minnehaha Creek at I-35W will remain open; however, the path may be intermittently closed to safely conduct work.
Motorists should follow the posted detour route. Motorists may cross I-35W at 38th Street, 42nd Street, Diamond Lake Road and 60th Street.
The bridge reconstruction will not impact traffic on southbound I-35W because traffic from 46th Street to 60th Street has been temporarily rerouted along northbound lanes of I-35W.
For more information on the I-35W/Highway 62 Crosstown reconstruction project, visit www.mndot.gov or call the Crosstown Project hotline at 1-866-743-6590 or send an e-mail to crosstown@rranow.com.
Mn/DOT reminds motorists to slow down in work zones and never enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. For statewide traffic, construction and travel information visit www.511mn.org or call 511 or log onto www.mndot.gov
