Dear Editor,
People who have seen Gary Schiff in community action, in the neighborhoods, talking with neighbors, whether they agree with him or not, know that he is thoughtful and has a mastery of complicated zoning law. Fred Markus’ allegation that he is “cavalier when conducting city business” is off-base and does not reflect Gary Schiff’s work ethic or
his personal integrity.
Land use decisions are one of the most important things the City Council weighs in on. Developers who don’t get what they want are bound to be upset. We need a council member who listens to neighborhoods and can weigh competing interests in a transparent and fair manner.
