May Day! May Day! OMG May Day is almost here!!
There’s a gigantic dead-looking giant bald eagle on top of a car parked at 36th & 17th Ave. My 6-year old wants to know what it’s for. I hope I didn’t lie when I said it was for the big parade.
BTW - I am *so* happy that the parade is on Sunday. The Green Party’s convention is on Saturday & I would have been very sad to miss the parade yet again (never been yet).
Leah just finished her second Boston Marathon!!!! Congrat-ulations Leah!! welcome home
Earth Day today at Powderhorn Park at 10 am, come help us clean powderhorn park, stop on over to the mayday cafe after for a refreshing beverage, and a fresh baked good !!
EaRTH DAY IS EVERYDAY. We won’t get anywhere till we embody this. For starters...if you smoke, stop throwing your butts on the ground. Get a BIG CLUE: THE EARTH IS NOT YOUR ASHTRAY! I get pretty sick of all the hip, new agey smoker folks who throw their butts on the ground outside your cafe when there are ample trash receptacles. I hope you put up a sign. I am a smoker
too and I manage to get my butts into a trash can or back in my pocket. Peace and thanks. I came - I drank - I (unfortunately) left.
I was just there- beautiful day and a full house. it.
Thanks for coming to the Art closing tonight, and picking up your art !!
Rest in Peace dear Michael Gramling! You’re already sorely missed. Hope you are
feeling all the love that is flowing your way!!! Michael is a beloved member of our large May Day family and he died today. Although its been over a decade since I last was in the old neighborhood, I remember Micheal and his energy and spririt very clearly. He was an increadible volunteer and tireless worker for the neighborhood. I’m saddened by his loss.
It’s time. We’ve fought for far too long. The Pie vs. Cake War must come to an end! But a winner can’t simply be chosen; there must be a battle, and you, dear reader, must decide the champion.
today someone did one of those random acts of kindness things and paid for the person behind her, anonymously. Made that person’s day, and ours!
Thanks to the singing group from “One Of a Kind” daycare 36th & Bloomington Ave S. for stopping in the MayDayCafe during their parade down Bloomington Ave !!
