Resident remembers the old West Bank
I loved the front-page Bedlam Theatre photo and the remembrance of West Bank
past in the July Southside Pride issue. Cedar-Riv old-timers like myself can identify with your words describing those times and places. I often wish they would return. Your last paragraph is a reality wake-up call from
that dream. And you are right. The Somali community needs programs for its youth and community space for its gatherings. I hate to see Bedlam Theatre, so symbolic of the old West Bank adventurous spirit, leave, but
this is now. The adventure is new—a new Somali home and community. I have a lot to learn and so do others. Let us begin.
