Taking a quick look at the 2010 Census data

Preliminary results of the 2010 Census are in and here are some of theresults:
The Field Neighborhood has 2,366 residents and 1,076 housing units. Of these, 1,036 are occupied and 40 are vacant. There are 1,633 people who identify themselves as White, or 69%. There are 123 Hispanic or Latino, or about 5%, and 397 African-American, or almost 17%. The rest are mixed race, Asian or Other.

The Regina Neighborhood has 2,292 residents and 966 housing units. Of these, 904 are occupied and 62 are vacant. There are 1061 White people in Regina, or 46%; 341 Hispanic, or almost 15%; and 679 African-American, or almost 30%.
Northrup has 4,369 residents and 1,939 housing units. Of these 1,852 are occupied and 87 are vacant. 3,445 people call themselves White, or almost 79%; 258 Hispanic, or almost 6%; 328 African-Americans, or 7.5%.

The final comparisons between 2000 and 2010 are not complete, but one of the changes in the citywide analysis was that the population of Whites went down from 62% to 60%, and the population of Hispanics went up from 8% to 11%. African-Americans remained virtually the same at 18% in the city.

The Field neighborhood lost 160 residents since 2000, and the Regina neighborhood lost 197. The Northrup neighborhood gained 34 new residents.
The population of the city of Minneapolis has remained almost exactly the same for the last ten years. It was 382,618 in 2000 and is 382,578 in 2010.
