This week at the Riverview Wine Bar:

On Wednesday, Sept.19, the Overtones Jazz Trio will be performing. They own the stage the first and third Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 20 (and every Thursday), Open Mic: If you want the world to hear your song, this is the place for you. Hosted by Jeff Bjorgo and Dan Rumsey.

Friday, Sept.21, at 8 p.m.: Overdue covers show tunes, rhythm and blues tunes, gospel, traditional folk, alternative music and then twist those genres into an acoustic reggae blend for your listening and dancing pleasure.

Saturday, Sept. 22, at 8 p.m.: Jim Pellinger, popular original folk singer.
The Zacc Harris Trio performs classic jazz every Sunday at the Riverview Wine Bar from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., featuring Zacc Harris on guitar.

“POT RECYCLING ends on Sunday, Sept. 24. Good excuse to start the fall chores in the garage? The name of this game is cooperation. We’ll take single growers pots, 4- and 6-pack cells, and trays sorted by size and free of debris.

Please make sure the pots do not contain any wires, rocks, garbage, other plastics, or excessive dirt because this stuff wrecks the process downstream. We cannot take compostable pots or consumer plastic pots purchased empty. Feel free to ask us if your pots fit the bill, we need to work together to keep this program going!

Riverview Theater: This week, Monday through Thursday, the popular venue will be showing “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” at 4:35—a wonderful British farce about seniors in Britain trying to find retirement in paradise on a budget. Judi Dench and Maggie Smith are hilarious, and they’re joined by a strong supporting cast.

“The Avengers” is playing at 7 and 9:35. If you want to see The Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye, Captain America and the Black Widow save the world (and we all know the world needs saving), then this is your movie.

Thursday, Sept. 20 and 27, at 7:15 p.m. the Riverview will be showing “Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen live in Budapest, ’86.” Tickets for this event are $12.50.
